Where it all began

For our founder, Mehak, the story began with a single Chikankari outfit.

In 2022, she wore Chikankari for the first time on Diwali and something about it instantly felt different. She fell in love with its delicate embroidery, timeless beauty, and, most importantly, how effortless it felt to wear. Over time, Chikankari became more than just an outfit she admired. It became something she kept returning to. She loved how comfortable it was, how easy it was to style, and how one piece could effortlessly transition between different occasions from festive celebrations and family gatherings to casual outings and everyday moments. The more she wore ethnic wear, the more she realised that it made her feel connected to something familiar, beautiful, and uniquely her own.

Later, Mehak moved to Germany to pursue her Master's degree. But even while building a life abroad, she always felt drawn towards creating something of her own. She began thinking about how traditional clothing could be made a more effortless part of the modern woman's wardrobe without limiting it to festivals, weddings, or special occasions. And somewhere along the way, the idea of House of Savar came to her.
